Talking It's all falling into place!!!

Ok,
So on Monday, I went to UCLA and had my 1st appointment. The Dr. said I met all the NIH requirements for Gastric Bypass.

They weighed and measured me....5"3 232lbs
my home scaled said 230

I got all the paperwork and Labs and such. Was told to lose between 12-23lbs before Dec. 15 appt where I will need to have all my paperwork mailed in.
Tuesday I went for the 4hour class about nutrition and what to expect.

I have a DR appt on Monday with my PCP at 9am to give him all the forms that need to be filled out and authorization request to be submitted.

Got on my scale today and I was 225! Then got a phonecall from UCLA Bariatric surgery and they have me penciled in with a tentative date of surgery for JAN 4,2010!!!.....I swear I'm so happy I could pee my pants!!!

awesome! i go for the group informational meeting november 16th myself, and i'm hoping the ball gets rolling smoothly after that.

does the navy have tricare as well? i would assume it's the insurance for all branches (my husband is active duty army), but i obviously don't know.

i'm curious to see exactly how the process goes. my doc told me it should take about 2 months, and i'm hoping she's right.

CONGRATS TO YOU!

Yes, all branches use Tricare. I'm Navy and also a RN at a MTF facility and we take care of them all! ~ Chris

Your program moves so fast - !

I wish mine would move faster - just so you are even more excited - I have been at this sense June and MIGHT be able to get in for surgery in February.

You are very lucky! Good for you!!
