Private room?
Hi, at the Pomerado Hospital in San Diego, with Dr. C do you get to have a private room or you have to share the room after surgery? Thanks

Congrats! I don't know about the room, I'm pre-op, but I'm happy you've got your date

Here's one to think about--There was still some spot in my brain that insisted there was absolutely no reason to have the surgery, that I really wasn't that fat, after all. And then when my HMO, who is notorious for their denials, actually approved it, well now there is no denying it. So it isn't just my poor self image after all! :-o

I also had a private room and it was like a Hotel....they treated me like a royal princess. I have spent time in many different hospitals and I have to say Pomerado was the best.

I had the entire recovery room alone with 2 Registered Nurses for 18 hours, minus a two hour ruptured appy in recovery. I was up and walking by that time, and then I was moved to a private room upstairs. I also had a private room for the day of my surgery, where I took my second shower and did no no with hubby.

private rooms
All the rooms at Pomerado are private
I also had the full recovery room by myself and a couple RN's.... but, I was only in there about 10 minutes after I woke up, I was just amazed that I was still alive, because I was afraid I was going to die in surgery, even Dr. Callery told me due to my co-morbidities that he didn't know if I'd "make it off the table...." his words..... I told him, "lets do it, I have to, I have to take this chance...I'm going to die like this, and this is my last ditch effort"
That was 13 months ago, and those old days are behind me... I bought my first size 18-20 blouse over the weekend... I started this journey last year in a 6X with only 2 blouses to my name. I opened up 3 bins I'd been saving from previous clothing exchanges and my sweet friend Renee', full of 18-20's...even the size 18 "britches" fit~ I was never so touched as when I put a pretty fitted dress on and my husband turned around to look at me while I was playing "dress up" trying all these new clothes on, and he just said,... "wowwww" It put a lump in my throat....
I wish you girls the best as your journey begins!!! It's all worth it, take my word for it!!
