Question Any Suggestions on How to get Insurance to approve?

I am going to my first appointment on Aug 24th. Does anyone have any suggestions that my help me get my surgery approved with the Insurance company. I have BCBS of Alabama. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I have heard alot of horror stories on people that had to submitt to their insurance more than one time.
Thanks

Kelli,

I was told by the bariatric center I am going through that BC/BS is one of the best insurance companies to deal with (with the exception of Illinois I think). I have BC/BS of MA and had no problem. I did jump through the hoops as needed.......Psych eval, went to a dietician, got info from my PCP, copied stuff I had done (WW, Curves, Y, South Beach, etc.). I had even used the Health Coach (phone) and money back for exercise things my company offered. I'm not sure which things helped or if any could have been left out. I did all I could possibly do, maybe overkill......cause I wanted that YES from them! Most bariatric centers will help you gather what your particular company wants and will walk you through it all. Good luck on your journey......stick around.
