I was fine when I went to the appointment - they said milk diet 7days prior to surgery - I was 12 days away but as I hadnt had anything I decided to get in the zone and start the journey from the hospital and start the diet. No problems till my mums birthday on Sunday and my perfect sister who is struggling to loose the last 4lbs post baby weight said so what are you doing now then - just do what I do and eat sensibly!! Rather than shed blood on my Mothers day I stuffed my anger down! (they dont know I am doing this as they will not be supportive!) Been struggling ever since to get back in the diet and now I am 7days pre op it is imperitave! So I failed yet again and panicking and wondering how I will keep this secret after - will I ever be able to eat "normally" enough to cover that I have had a by pass????????

I have just started telling a few co-workers. There are a couple of people that are more like your situation and I haven't told them yet. I also haven't told anyone in my family except two of my older boys, hubby and my parents. I know I will have to tell them sooner or later, just what you said, they will notice a change in the eating habits, but I am going to wait until after. Then if they have something negative to add...it can't be I don't think you should do it. Ooops too late!
As far as your perfect sister

...yeah if just eating sensibly would work for us, we would have already done that....duh!
I have to say so far the people that I have told have shocked me with their reactions. Almost 100% have said "we have watched you exercise your butt off way more that anyone we know and you just don't get the results you should. So needless to say, it has gotten a bit easier to tell people.
Hang in there. Sorry to hear the diet is making you sick.....
