Default another type of surgery???

I have had 2 nurses tell me that there is another stomach surgery for weight loss. The doctor goes through your throat, no cutting!!! Has anyone else heard of this?

From what I have read there are a few that go in through the mouth. One creates folds and the other does basically the bypass stapling without the bypass (move the intestines around part) portion.

I think there is the rose procedure, which goes through your mouth. That is however when you have had the bypass and gained some significant weight back. From what I understand it is being tested by diff docs as well right now.

I saw them do this to a lady on Big Medicine that had bypass like 10 years ago. Her surgery never worked, so the dr. went through her throat and basically put darts in her pouch to make it smaller. I think it's very new which is why we haven't heard much about it.

I know there was a study done recently of a procedure that was done endoscopically. I'm not sure it's widely available yet, though. I think it basically involved going down the esophagus into the stomach and stapling the stomach to make it smaller.

Surgery never worked? More like she didn't follow through with what she was told. I HATE HATE HATE hearing that this surgery didn't work for people, I have a very hard time believing that.

I believe her surgery was done incorrectly. She was the "guinea pig" for the dr that did her gastric. That was one of the challenges when they did this new procedure.
