I had my follow up for my new intake yesterday and left the office confused as all get out. (yes, more confused than normal).
I had all the pre surgery blood work done in Janurary and was told everything looked fine and dandy. Well, I had to have new blood work done for my new intake and the numbers are way off the charts in a couple areas.
Vitimin D was 42 the new one is 10. WICKED

low normal range is 20-60
Cholesterol was 150 and my new one was 253. SUPER high

. Normal is 130-200.
Triglycerides was 75 and my new one is 663. MASSIVE over

. Normal is 44-150.
Everything else is perfect. Anyway the NP informed me that with my Vit D that low I need to be on medication. Now, at her request I stopped drinking the Vit D whole milk at my last intake and switched to 1%. Now my Vit. D is where it is. She said I have to get into the sun more. Easy to say, the sun has not come out in MA in I don't know how long and I work from 6:30am to 4:00pm. Now, when I do go out I have mass sunscreen on as I burn to a crisp in 5 minutes. She said I need 30 min in the sun without sunscreen. I think she's trying to kill me. At 10 minutes out without sunscreen I have a burn so bad it scars. 20 minutes and I'm in the hospital with sun poisioning. Oh well, suppliments here I come. Of course the Vit. D being so low is also killing my calcium. Oh joy.
There was no clue as to why my cholesterol and triglycerides have jumped to another solar system. I have tossed all the sugar, butter, lard, and that stuff from my diet. I only eat red meat maybe once a week now and even that is super lean and tasteless. For the most part I'm a fresh veggie and roasted chicken kinda gal.
She really scared me though saying that I am a prime canidate for a massive heart attack or stroke now. Not to mention the pre curser of diabeties (sp?). How in the world could so much go so wrong in such a short amount of time following a drs diet?
Should I take these numbers at face value or should I push to get new tests run? I also just noticed that my glucose is 119 and the normal range is 70-100.

She didn't even mention that one.
