You aren't supposed to drive for a week after surgery, not b/c of pain, but b/c obese people absorb the anesthesia in to the fat cells, and it can be released into the blood days later without warning. It would make you feel like you forgot what you just did, or sometimes it made me feel suddenly like I was going to fall, even if I was laying down.
Be careful.

Holy Toledo, Mike!!! I just looked at your stats. you are already down 50 lbs!!! How awesome.... you must feel fabulous!!
I am down 24. I had mine June 19th. I can't wait to be under 200 lbs. That's my goal for when I return to work. I am taking a full 6 weeks off, because I work for the USPS, and I lift heavy stuff.
Anyone else going back to work yet?

That explains SO much. I'm 5 days out and still having occasional moments where I've said or done something and can't remember it minutes later. It was horrible the first 3 days.

work
I went back to work for the first time last night. I'm a nurse and no one would let me do light duty, just in case. I was fine and thankfully made some damn money I'm soooo broke right now. Anyway, 24lbs since the 19th? How the hell did you do that? I'm impressed and envious. Congrats for you.

I guess that I am the lucky one. I am a teacher so I won't go back to work until August. I wish I could lose weight as fast as Mike. It is not fair that men lose so much quicker. I am down about 40 lbs (since May 19th, My surgery was June 2)

Don't worry Annie, I am starting to slow down a bit. I think my body was rewarding me for changing the way I eat, I have a feeling I will have to work for the rest of the weight. I am going to post some pics in a bit of my night before, and then 10 days out.
 It is shocking!

I just snapped some new ones, and had on my exersize clothes, and found that I had to pull the shirt tighter (whoo hoo!) to see my belly. I haven't showered after my bike ride today, sorry.
Ready for this?
Night before surgery 306 lbs.
10 days after surgery 274 lbs! Note the belly
Night before surgery front Note the bulges from a swollen liver and pancreas.
10 days After surgery front view, note the lack of bulges!
306 to 255 (post exersize-I will gain 2 lbs. by tonight from water.)

I am going back to work on july 13th and had surgery on june 22nd. I started driving 10 days out. I have also lost 19 pounds since surgery (not as good as you mike) but couldnt even really walk till day 6 due to swelling complications on my left side so for less than 2 weeks I am happy with that!
