9 days to go! and getting really nervous! I have been on the optifast liquid diet for 3 weeks now but I did it on my own accord. I wanted to wean my self off of everything and get used to my new life style before I had to deal with the surgery part and start working on my mental hunger now. I have done very well with it and feel like I have so much more time in the day instead of stressing about what I will eat or what I want to eat but I guess that may just be me. My birthday is June 25th and I will be 30 my surgery is on the 22nd-what a great bday present this will be if all goes well-I wish I could party with all of my friends this weekend but no alcohol for me!!!!I wish everyone well and thank you for posting your experiances on the other side! NEKED?? I didnt know I had to be awake naked infront of everyone! AHHHHH!

My first post op is next wed. I can't wait to move to the next stage. I too am sick of the pureed. Congrats on the 13 pounds (is that since the day of surgery!!!!!) wow.
I guess that we are blessed to have family members who care about us so much to keep tabs on us. I actually have to say that I did better eating when my hubby was here (he went back to work).
So what kinds of things did you eat on your pureed diet. I am getting bored and still have 6 more days on it.
I am so excited for you that you lost 13 already. Way to go. I think that since the day of surgery I have lost 8 pounds (not official).
Are you feeling ok? Pain wise I mean. I only have that pain on my right side getting annoying. I want it to go away already.(I think everyone else is on the left, by my surgeon is left handed LOL)
keep my posted.
that was from the day of surgery...i can say i have been walking my butt off! My hubby left with my oldest son to take him to oregon for the summer...i can say that with out him being on me all the time about the water i have been slacking real bad. For the most part i feel ok everynow and then i get a pain, but i can sleep on either side at night(havent tried my stomach yet). The only real problem i have been having is a pain in my chest sometimes through out the day. It feels like there is a ball there, my dr told me to take some maylox and that does seem to help. I think i might be eating too fast, Thats is sooo great about your diabetes!!

Have we heard from Mike yet?

I'm thinking he must have spent the full 3 nights in the hospital. So he'll probably be released today if he did in fact go lap.

Funny, I came on today to check on Mike. He estimated he would be back Fri or Sat. Hope he is doing well.
I have a question for all of you. Have any of you been extemely emotional lately. I am always mean to my hubby, which I don't like. I go from being mad to crying. I take cymbalta for anxiety/depression but haven't had it since surgery. Do you all think it is the stress of surgery or that I need to get my but back on my meds?

I don't think you are supposed to go cold turkey with those kinds of meds, does your doctor know you aren't taking them? I know fat stores horomones so I would imagine if you are losing rapidly it is releasing all sorts of things so along with the stress and not taking meds you usually take, it makes sense to me that you would be emotional.
