From the very beginning I was told that my insurance is requiring 4-6 months of nutrition classes before pre-op. Okay, whatever. I will do what I am suposed to. (I have Blue Cross of CA.)
Yesterday I spoke with the insurance specialist of the surgeon of my choice. She informed me that my insurance is one of the rare ones that does NOT require nutrition classes to be approved for surgery. What???!!!

I then call my PCP to ask, why? She tells me that my doctor isn't requiring the classes either. What the.....
The reason that I must take the classes is the "Medical Group" that my doctor belongs to is requiring the classes. Who the h#ll do they think they are???!!! What right do these corporate yahoos have to tell my surgeon, PCP, my insurance and myself what I have to do to be approved for surgery?
Oh well, I guess I have to play their stupid game to get what I want.
On a lighter side... My good friend and I decided to do the surgery at the same time (the beginning of June 2005). She has already done all the pre-op testing & was given a surgery date of July 15, 2005!

I am so proud of her and a little jelous too but that's okay. The way I see is I will be able to get all her old clothes so when my time comes I won't have to buy as much!!
Okay enough ranting and rambling. Thanks for listening.
