Hi
Im having surgery on Feb.11th. Im not that nervous yet but have been trying to do a lot of things that I may not have a chance to do later. My daughters are both grown so Ive decided that we would go out to eat on Tuesday night and talk about old times and reminist. We have fond memories of our lives together. It will just be girls night out.
I really haven't told a lot of people about the surgery, mostly talk to people who have had the surgery.
Remember this is our time, we have to do what we need to do to take care of ourselves. If there was any other way, Im sure all of us would have tried it. This is the best way for me. Im looking forward to the future, to being there for my grandson and for my family.
Everything will be fine, just remember why you are doing this and soon you will be looking back smiling.
Lots of prayers for all of us as we travel on our journey for better health.

You sound just like me.....I have cried a lot too! I just seem to be overwhelmed! I have not wrote a letter but I did buy Valentines Day cards that I will have addressed to them. But I don't think I can write a long letter.....I mean I am trying to stop thinking in those terms. Its driving me crazy!
I did balance our checkbooks LOL!

February Staplers
Ladies,
I think it is unreal to frighten your children as if you are not coming back. Reassure them that you are going to do everything in your power to come out alright. It's unfair to have them sitting frighten that you will leave and not return to them. As you can see many of us have had this surgery and came out find. That is the message that you should give your children, family and friends if necessary.

By letters to my children I meant to give them "just in case"... I would neve want to worry them and have been very certain to tell them how I'll be back to normal and running around with them in no time!
I've started letters but get to emotional so I think I'm just going to skip them. My husband knows what to tell them...
Good luck to all, I will be praying for a successfull surgery, a speedy recovery and a wonderful to road to a healthier life.
God Bless!

My surgery for a lp Roux n y is on the 17th of Feb! I'm so nervous and excited! I have so far to go, but can't wait for that journey to start! I feel so alone here in Germany without my friends of family... please let me know what I need to do to get ready, be ready and be successful! (I've already ordered the WLS for Dummies...) Thanks for anything you all share!
