Smile Things I want to do after I lose the weight

I was going through some old files and found a list that I wrote before my surgery. I was trying to come up with 100 things I wanted from my weight loss. I came up with 75. I went through it today and checked off everything that I have accomplished and found the few items that I have left to do. Their still on the list because I haven't had an opportunity to do them not because I can't.

For all of you pre-ops, think about making your list and soon you will see how far you have come. While I struggle with the last few pounds that I am trying to lose and the scale that hasn't moved in 3 weeks, this puts things in perspective for me.

Talking Not fearing photos...

I just wanted to add that I, too, am happy that I no longer dread the words... "say cheese." Even though I have another 50 pounds to lose, the loss of the first 70 has turned me in to a picture maniac. Now I look forward to having pictures taken and I don't cringe when I see pictures of myself.

This has been one of the best decisions of my life. I am so very grateful to Dr. C for giving me another chance to live a healthy life.

Hi Mary,
What a wonderful list. The greatest part is that your ARE THERE!!!!!!! And true for me also. It has been soo worth the hard work! Boy, do I agree with the photo thing. I love looking at pictures of myself. In fact, I think that it has helped me emotionally to see myself as a thinner, average weight lady. I'm so proud of and happy for you.

Cool Ditto

The biggest thing I'm looking forward to is a good night's sleep. I've lived with sleep apnea for so long that I don't recall what's it like to wake up refreshed....

Talking What a great list!

Well, I'm sitting here biding my time until we go to the hospital tonight for admission at 12:30am... I'll be the second case tomorrow. I'm excited and anxious all in the same second!

I LOVE Mary's list and wanted to add a few of my own "to-do's" during and after the weight loss:

- Full extension in all yoga postures.
- Jogging with my pooch.
- 5K on my birthday (October!).
- Walking all the way up Cowles Mountain without having to stop.
- Wearing a short sleeved t-shirt without having the arms ride up.
- Faster pace (dare I say jog?!) downhill without being afraid of breaking all of my limbs.
- A triathlon.
- Liking the way I look in pictures.

I'm sure I'll think of more, and I'm going to have the next 4-6 weeks free to post them all! Yippee!

There are so many things I would like to do...

here are a few I can think of now.

1. Have my hubby hug me with arms ALL the way around me.

2. Walk through the aisles at my children's school without bumping chairs or knocking things off tables.

3. Fit comfortably in a public restroom stall.

4. Not feel like everyone is staring at me because of my size.

5. Fly in an airplane again.

6. Look in the mirror and not critisize what I see staring back at me.

Default Mary's List

Hey girl, I started to cry when I went through your list because I use to feel soooo alone being the biggest person in my world. It is so nice to see other people saying things I use to say everyday. Isn't it funny how a thin person looks at life and how a heavy person sees life? Your example of knocking stuff over with your ass, or looking around to see if you are the heaviest person in the room. Thanks for sharing...
