LOL, I despise tomatoes...someone wrote that they felt the same way pre-op, but craved them afterwards. It'll be interesting to see if that becomes the case for me too

I mentioned in a previous thread that 3 days post op, Crystal Lite Fruit Punch makes me nauseous (it super-sweet smelling...almost like I'm going to drink a cup of fruit flavored pancake syrup)...but since I'm still on clear liquids I don't know about anything else.

Ocean Spray SF Cran-Apple is my current craving. You'll find it where the Crystal Lite is. It's clear, not sweet smelling, and almost tastes like the real juice without the guilt.
I can't stand the SF Fruit Punch either and that includes the smell. However, I CAN mix it with lemonade (one lemonade, one FP to a gallon) and it tastes quite tangy. I love ice, lot's of crushed ice.

When I was in the hospital I couldnt stand jello,it had a sweet chemical taste. Anything vanilla was disgusting. As time went on I tried a bit of apple pie filling on a spoon, yuck! Too sweet. Some flavored waters I used to like also were bad now. I only drink Fruit 2-O or Propel waters. Orange anything makes me puke still. The rest of the stuff has pretty much returned to normal after 2 months. Oh yeah....Yogurt..Gag! STILL! i USED TO LOVE IT TOO!

That was me! lol. I don't crave them anymore at all.. and don't eat them.. weird, huh?
I wouldn't touch yogurt with a ten foot pole pre-op.. tasted like spoiled milk to me. Now I eat a Fage Yogurt every day, sometimes two! If I miss it (like the other day when I was at my mom's... ) I feel like something is missing from my day.
As to the texture issue- yep.. this changed for me as well. Pre-op, I wouldn't eat things with beans in them.. like chili- The texture of the beans grossed me out big time. Now I have chili at least once a week, sometimes, more! I have no issues with the texture now.
I still don't like fish or any seafood, but that's a smell issue.. yuck.

Thank you so much for your response! I was getting worried I was the only weird person with texture issues :-) I am just hoping my tastes and texture issues for the better after surgery...I really want to eat more things that are healthy for me ( without gagging)

Pre Op I loved creamy cottage cheese. Now I have to rinse the curds and get all the cream off. It's way too salty with it. I am still on full liquids but they basically melt in your mouth so I figured it was ok. I also asked the hubs to soft scramble an egg for me yesterday morning. They were as soft as the cottage cheese but they just sat there. Seemed like it took forever for the heavy feeling to go away. Also, prior to wls I like the taste of chicken broth. Now YUK! ACK! YUK! It is horrible! That's basically all I have experienced so far.
