Pre-op
Sandi,
When I went to my pre-op, Dr. Callery just came in and we went over the basic stuff. What to expect at the hospital before surgery, and after, what options you have for the surgery, and any questions you or your buddy may have. Then you'll lay on the table and he'll feel your tummy...and that's about it. At least that's how mine went. Don't sweat it baby...it'll be GREAT!!

No Nekkie!!!
Sandi,
Dr. Callery just had me lay on the table then he pulled my pants down to the point where my tummy would hold them down (you all know what I am talking about .. lol) then he lifted my shirt up to the bra line and felt my tummy.. I never took anything off.. not even my shoes.. lol
You are going to do great.. the best advice I can give is make a list of questions that you and/or John may have in advance and put them in your binder.. OH YEAH DON'T FORGET YOUR BLUE BINDER!! I left forgetting about some questions I wanted to ask.. grrrr lol
Anyway you are going to do fabulous!!! Love you girl

I have my pre-op tomorrow, too. I am glad I don't have to expose ALL of my fat. I have tons of questions for Dr. Callery and many of you have already answered them. You are all so supportive.

Sandi, girlfriend, enjoy your days before surgery. I pretty much ate what I wanted (within reason) and just watched fat content the day of surgery. The fat slows down your digestion and that is one reason why some end up with drains. I ate chinese chicken salad for dinner and was ok...and I believe Karen ate chicken breast, veggies and potatoes and was fine

Thank you Tracie girl!!!!
Enjoy the days?? I'm scared to death to eat anything at all... I don't want to mess up my sugars, I guess at this late date that's a moot point huh? within a week those will be lower than they've ever been probably... S'cuse me while I do a happy dance!!!
Okay, no fried foods then for several days ahead of time.... okay, I can do that...
Thank you Tracie, you, just like Christina and Karen always come to my rescue....
Love you Girlie.....
Hugs~
I better put Kleenex on my list of things to take to the hospital, cuz I know I'm gonna need it, from the tears of joy that will be trickling down my face.....

Tracie hit it on the nose
Sandi,
A lot of people have soups for their last meal. I didn't eat much the day before surgery but still ended up with a drain. Even though I hadn't eaten since 1pm the day I went in. However, the drain was not in my old stomach it was in my inside.. because I guess I was juicy in there.. lol (Hence the fact they had to open my incision due to it still draining..) Grrr.. oh well.. that is all over now and I am all healed and feeling much better.. Sometimes drains simply can't be avoided.. sorry.
Just make sure that when Dr. Callery tells the nurses to put a dressing on the drain that they do it.. if they had done that to mine it would not have been so dang sore when he took it out. My skin was raw and irritated.
Hope this helps.. Love ya
