You know what? GET USED to FEELING everything, good and bad...without food to medicate or stuff the feelings...it bubbles right to the top. What an EXCITING TIME for each of you...a wonderful gift. It's not easy, it gives you a jump start...and what a THRILL!

Everyone is so excited about having the surgery. I am not excited at all. At least not at the moment. I have had my days of excitement knowing that if I follow the rules of the pouch I will lose everything I have to lose and I will be just fine. However I am terrified!!! Is that because I am getting ready to go under the knife or am I abnormal?

I think it is totally normal. My 'woo hoo' is a nervous excitement. I am nervous about the surgery and any complications I might have. Also about the healing process. But, I am excited to get past that quickly and on to a healthier life.

I too am totally scared not only about the surgery, I have to have an open procedure, but the recovery. Then on the Discovery channel I saw a show about a woman who'd had the surgery and she lost weight, but then gained it plus more back and now weighs over 400 lbs! And that freaked me out as well! I would hate to go through all this for nothing!
