Sick Inside
I got a letter from Aetna saying that I have 45 day to respond with more Information. We gave them everything I had, over 40 diets, all my history, Everything, I'm so sick inside. I have nothing else to give them.
Does this mean that I'm Denied?
My husband and I were on our way to dinner and I just had to stop at the post office.I feel so bad I just sat at the table and
started to cry.My husband keep saying It's ok, your fine.
I wanted to hit him LOL He keep saying God has a plan,What made me even more sad, Is I say that all the time and I do believe that.
This was my first hope for major weight loss in years.
I feel like a train just hit me. Please Pray for me.
I'm going to call Aetna tommorow and find out more.
I'll keep you posted.Sorry guys I needed to vent. I hate AETNA

Yes, call Aetna tomorrow and demand to know what they need from you. Make them put it in writing...tell them to send it to you in the mail, so you can give them exactly what they need. Whatever you do, don't give up. There are many here including myself who had to fight. I had to appeal my denial and I wrote EVERYTHING down...especially names and dates and times I talked to people on the phone. Keep your head up....good things will come your way.

Have you done a "personal" letter stating how it feels to be obese and how you fear for your health and your plans to make the surgery a success for yourself.

Aetna is known to be the most difficult insurance carrier in the matter of bypass surgery. If you hvae been under a doctors care for two years though, you can present compelling evidence.

Do you any tests like an EEG or something that shows up some heart or lung problems?
I had a smiliar letter from Blue Cross. When I researched it further, I discovered that my MD had forgotten to submit a few old notes and such. Fortunatley, I had copies of every lab result, MD note, and test results from the past six years. I faxed over 50 pages of stuff and had circled every abnormal result I've ever had.
We're praying for you.

Misty,
Hang on for the rollercoaster! Up then down, then up again. LOL SRS sent me a letter like that for my consult, and before I could call them I got another letter saying my consult referral was approved.

I would be a pest and call in a few days just to make sure everyone there at Aetna gives you the same answer. I always do that and play dumb with whoever I am talking to and then I get their name. That way, you have your mind at ease. That's just what I do because I am a worry wart and if things go wrong, it is usually with me.
I am so GLAD to hear that your claim is being processed...you will be having a date in no time.
