Angry Aetna - Those a-holes!!! Corruption and some more sh*(!!

They should be investigated.

They sent me a letter saying I had 45 days to send them documentation and turned around and told my Doctor verbally that the request is denied. Then why the figgin' letter saying I have 45 days.

What the heck!!! BMI 47/high blood pressure/sleep apnea/GERD - WTF

Reason: not enough documentation from my dietician. Well, my dietician sent additional documentation and we'll see what happens. But another delay tactic by Aetna. Fretna - should be the name. Those thieving bast*&%'s.

I had my first request denied because of lack of documentation. So, I faxed 45 pages of notes I had acquired from the past 6 years back to the insurance company and had the referral re-submitted. I was approved for consult within a week or two. Once approved for consult, there was no denying the actual surgery.

Fax Fax Fax and then write your own personal letter saying how and why you are a candidate for surgery. Quote every thing humanly possible! Keep up the good fight....

Here is a website that had a sample appeal letter that I found for a girlfriend of mine. I had it saved on my favorites. Here it is, I hope it helps!

Thanks girls for the support.

Aetna should not get away with putting people through pure hell. I mean damn, do they actually think we want to be in this situation. It's hard enough living before surgery, but to be challenged on something we so obviously need, is ridiculous. I understand the need to make sure this is the right thing for people, but to know that some of us are grossly overweight and need help immediately. They don't seem to care. It's such a racket! Money hungry CEO's with their multi-million dollars homes and can obviously get anything they want. What the hell do they care.

Sorry ladies, I'm venting for all of us that suffer under the hands of insurance companies.

I don't have to know you guys to love you guys. We have something in common.

Talk to U soon and take care of u.

They are just trying to piss you off enough to make you give up and go away. Maybe this will help.
