How do you get through the HalfLytely
Ok...possibly TMI here...
I am in the process of doing my bowel prep for tomorrow's surgery and I'm supposed to drink 8 oz of this stuff every 10 minutes...I can't! It is so disgusting that I GAG every time I take a sip! I have gotten through about 1/2 of it and I think I'm gonna DIE before I get through the rest!!! Anyone have any tricks they have tried to finish this stuff???

K, I don't know if I am "allowed" to do this, but I added some crystal light to the mix. I can at least swallow it now! too bad I still have about another liter to go...ugh!

I was allowed to add crystal lite to mine - as long as it wasn't red in colour.
Try drinking it with a straw. Get the straw as far back in your mouth as possible and it'll be passed most of the taste buds.

I may have had something different...but the type I had could be mixed with water & crystal lite. Not great...but better than by itself.
Good luck...and stay near that bathroom!!

I mixed it with red crystal light...oops. Too late now. The doctor didn't specify not to...
I JUST not got through all that stuff!! It took me 3 hours!!!! Now that the drinking is done I have to wait for the "draining" to stop. Ugh, today is no fun!

i didnt have to for this surgery, but for others and i told them i couldnt drink it and they told me to get the other stuff (tastes like sprite and its sold at the pharmacies. its in a green bottle)
oops saw your post too late. thank GOD you drank it woohooo i'm so excited for you

just wait till it starts working
mine was different it was 2 tablespoons every ten minutes and my nut gave me a red drink with protein in it to drink. big mistake i thought i was bleeding to death. if that happens to you your not its just the red crystal lite. good luck tomorrow you will be in my prayers.

Yuck, that's rough! My mom has had to do that before and it was painful to even watch! I had magnesium ...something... lol! It's bad that I can't remember! But it was the stuff in the green bottle. Didn't exactly taste like sprite but it wasn't bad, either! And it was only the size of a coke bottle. I hope you got through it alright and didn't suffer too badly afterward!!
