Default Almost 3 wks Post Op HELP

Hello everyone out there in TT world... I need so help. My situation is that I first need to know how much protein should I be getting in on any given day. Currently I take in about 42 at the absolutely lowest and normally around 64... but is this enough? I'm constantly tired and feel like I should be feeling a lot better then I am. I'm still in a lot of pain due to the stupind hernia repair.. it really did a number on me.. but I'm working through that. I drink water only, and some times a few glasses of milk with my calicum chew. I don't go back to the doc's until the 14th so I figured I'd ask you guys.. the real live experts. I knew I was in for the long haul when I decided on this surgery.. but I just want to feel somewhat healthy after 3 weeks. I have three lil girls who need their mommy and I feel like everytime they need me.. I need to rest.. so any advice you can offer up would be greatly appreciated!

I can't wait to have my life back, I know it's going to be a long haul, but I know when I'm able to play with my girls, not be in pain anymore, and my husband is able to wrap both arms around me and pick me up that it will all be worth it!

It will take some time to heal girl. You will make it, and if still feeling bad at your appt ask. your protein sounds really good, as my nut said at 1 month out to be concerned about your fluids. she said around 30 to 40 at a month out was good. Are you taking your vitamins? If not try your best to get them in, especially your iron and b12 and b1. I hope you feel better.

Sweetie, your body is taking up a lot of energy to HEAL. Do the best you can with your fluids, your protein, and never, never skip your vitamins...

Sarah,

I don't know if Dr. Posner gave you a handout about how your diet would work and what your needs would be, but here is the one from my doctor if you think it would help!

Default Thanks Mike

I just read that link you posted. It goes along with a lot of what doctor Posner and my NUT have advised me. But all of my paperwork says AT LEAST 50 grams of protien. So I was just curious what a good amount was. I know that all doctors are different and I could tell just by going over your guidelines from mine. I wasn't allowed to have anything but fluids for awhile. where you were allowed a lot sooner.. but now that I'm almost 3 weeks out I'm allowed to have some foods that you weren't advised to eat until after 4 weeks.... So you see why I come to the experts for suggestions. I really appreciate your list and have saved the link to my favorites.
Thanks
