Just got back from my pre-op. It's been a looooong day! I met the surgeon and we went over things. I have a packet 1 inch thick of paperwork to go through and fill out, sign, etc. Today is my last day of food. Starting tomorrow I have a clear liquid diet until surgery. Usually they do 2 weeks of liquids, but I obviously don't have 2 weeks left! I have to do the bowel prep in the motel the night before surgery. I'll only be able to have one parent with me because one has to stay with my sister. We don't think it would be too smart to stick a 12 year old girl with autism into a motel for 5 days with nothing to do. I pick my daddio. My surgeon gave me the okay to get my teeth cleaned! If for some reason my insurance lags, my date will be rescheduled for August 28th, and this liquid diet would just have been my "practice run". I should know more within the next few days regarding insurance.

8 days.

Well, I'm at the end of day 1 on clear liquid diet, and I am STARVING! I have had some sugar free jello, and I have a cup here of Chicken noodle soup without the chicken and noodles...at least it is kind of dinner-like. I know that the first three or so days will be the hardest, and then the hunger should subside.

On the plus side...I got some purple crocs today!!!

7 days.
