Default Surgery Date, Kinda Bittersweet

I FINALLY GOT A SURGERY DATE OF JULY 26TH, 2005 @ 12:30PM I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT THAT, BUT IN THE SAME BREATH THEY TELL ME THAT I NEED TO BE AT AROUND 320 FOR SURGERY AND I THINK WHEN I SAW THEM I WAS AT 337 WHICH WAS FINE BUT KNOW I THINK I HAVE GONE UP TO ABOUT 350 (I PLAY WITH THE SAME 15LBS). IM KINDA SAD NOW! I HAVE 2 1/2 MONTHS UNTIL THEN SO I AM GOING TO TRY MY HARDEST. DOES ANY ONE KNOW WHAT MORE I CAN DO TO LOSE THIS 30 LBS BEFORE SURGERY, IF I DONT THEY WILL NOT PERFORM IT. I AM SO SAD. I HAVE COME THIS FAR FOR THEM TO SAY IT MIGHT NOT HAPPEN. I AM SCARED TO TEARS. ANY INPUT WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. WITH LOTS OF LOVE................MEYOSHA

I would say walk as much as you can, and drink lots of water. Walking will help you to loose some weight. Also try to cut out the really fatty foods. Stop drinking soda (if you drink it). Try baking everything. Maybe a liquid diet for awhile. I know if it were that easy none of us would have needed WLS to begin with. Good luck. Keep us posted.

Bridget is right! the Atkins diet works great but it is temporary. No carbs. Meat cheese eggs are your friends. Potatoes, bread, pasta are the bad guys. You can do this! 2 1/2 months is plenty of time. You have come to far to not give it 110%! Good luck and keep us posted!

Dimples,

You can do it! The other side of life is low fat -- which I've been doing. Veggies, salads, lean meat are all good. I've also been eating more fruit (not the roll up kind) and drinking a lot of water -- like 4 44 oz cups of water per day. It's helped me lose some weight and my skin is looking great. Good luck on your quest. You can do this!
Hugs!

It's going to work! I've been reading French Women Don't Get Fat, and one of her main points is that life is too short to eat boring, or bad food. She talks about rituals and the importance of enjoying what we eat, this is a very bad summation but her whole attitude is that life is to be enjoyed. You can do this to get to where you want to be.
