Thanks and good luck to you! You are a day after me... I am soooo nervous.... I couldn't wait for this time to go by... now that it's here I wish it would slow down a bit... I wish the nervousness would subside so I can be excited... I know this is the right decision, but I am trying to be happy and stop worrying, but that is sooooo much easier said than done!

Default Me too!

I'm exactly the same...soooo excited and sooo nervous.

I had a breakdown the other night thinking...What am I doing??? Have I gone crazy??? I cried a bunch, then talked to one of my friends that just had it a week ago. She really helped settle me down and helped me realize that I'm not going to get any better on my own, and this is a great tool. And I've been working towards this goal for a long long time, and to give up now would be something that I would regret! So, I've got a positive attitude now, and I'm still nervous, but I feel better about it. I feel ready!

Can't wait to see you Saturday!!

Judy,

See my post under socialize... "North carolina fires and sad events"... This is why I am sooo nervous.... I have never been put to sleep, and i am scared of not waking up and my baby being all alone! i now it is not rational, but as my therapist says I have "situational depression".. i guess this is one of those "situations" that "depress" me! She is great and wonderful, but the "NUT lingo" gets me sometimes!

That's awesome ... can't wait till we exchange our stories

I'm excited..., I already experienced having a JP drain, and compression stockings, Cath, and a nasal tube down my throat when I had my gallbladder removed last July & August . So I'm better prepared on what to expect when I awake from surgery.

Ps: Hope I didnt get you worried with the details I just described

Nah... the details don't bother me, I had a drain when i had a c-section and a catheter, so that suff dosen't bother me as long as i wake up and as long as there is no breathing tube in when i wake up.... my therapist told me to ask for some xanax, valium or someting cause i got so worjked up in her office just talking about being put to sleep that the was afradi I'd have a panic attack and my b/p & pulse would skyrocket!!!! LOL I know i'm probably just being silly!

If you've researched your surgeon and he has a great record, there's nothing to be scared of. You're gonna be just fine. After all you've went thru with that beautiful boy, trust me, you're tough enough to do this.

Thanks! I am glad you believe in me.... I am just nervous... I hate not being in control of myself... that is why I do not do drugs and I do not drink in excess (don't get me wrong... I can throw them down, socially, on occassion, but I do not get drunk to where I loose all inhabitions or "forget" events that happen during my drunken stupor) I just don't like to not be in control of my body... I freaked out when I had to have an emergency c-section and they were gonna knock me out... I begged and begged and cried until they agreed to try a spinal block... luckily it took on the first try!

Also I do have the upmost trust in my doctor, but he is not the one putting me to sleep!!! LOL! My other worry is blood clots... my doctors nurse told me yesterday they take all precautions to prevent them (shots of coumidin, those neat stocking thing and they make us walk walk walk) but that while the precentage is very low, blood clots is the # 1 reason for fatalties (sp?) after bariatric surgery.... Although my doctor have never lost a patient during surgery he did loose one to a blood clot a few weeks after surgery ( I guess the patient did not walk and do the calf exercises) and one several months after surgery due to a bleeding ulcer (patient started smoking again) so my doc stressed the importance of me NEVR EVER picking up the habit again post-op.... So I figure 2 deaths isn't bad consider he has been doing this for a lllloooonnnggg time, and they were post op deaths. It seemed like they were from lack of compliace on the patients part, but it still makes me nervous. At least he was very open and honest when I asked about it, so I do feel secure, but I am a worrier by nature...
