Default Ironic.... I'm approved

I am finally approved through Sharp medical group,, BUT since my company is switching carriers as of july 1,, its like somebody telling you that you dont have cancer, but your going to die tomorrow of a heart attack. I have already been told by Kaiser that if they dont agree with DR Callery's recomendation of surgury, I will have to go through 18 months of their program and trials. Hence, I am glad that I was approved, hell I'm beside myself,,,, but I am now in the hands of Kaiser. Wish me luck I guess.

Congrats rico_sd!!!!
All you can do is take one day at a time and see what Kaiser will say... I actually don't know anything about them, but, I'm sure there are others on here who do, so, hang tight till the others read your post, you'll get some encouragement!!! Don't give up whatever you do!!!! Perhaps if you talk to Leslie at Dr. Callery's office she may be able to give you some insight on Kaiser, she knows her stuff....

Good luck!!!!!

Default Kaiser "Positive Choice"

Sorry to hear about your situation I tried to go through Kasier last year but was denied because my BMI was under 50 and my asthma was not considered a co-morbidity. If I were you I'd call Kaiser's Positive Choice 858-573-0090 and sign up for a bariatric surgery seminar. I know they go through Pacific Bariatrics. You don't need a referrel from your primary care doctor for the surgery. I don't think their program takes 18 months, from what remember it was like 6-9 months. Good luck and hang in there

Exclamation Someone give up their date for Rico!

From what I understand you are good to go until July 1st... have you spoke with the office about getting a date within the next few days? Will someone here give up their date? Or is that too quick for you and out of the question? Hopefully there is an angel out there who will give you their date. Best wishes Rico.
