Well I fell asleep so i didn't post my white light scan, but i'm going to this weekend. I was mortified by the picture.. When i saw it I realized i have 2 butts!!! lol! But the people here are so nice and non-judgemental... that it dosent bother me to share on here. Besides it's good motivation... it's who i am now... but not who i plan to be a year from now!
I'm definately going to look into getting some moth spray.... my friend said she would sneak me some sonic ice, but i'm afraid!!! lol

So, Rachel and Judy...Am I right in thinking that for the first couple of days out of the hospital, we will be just trying to take in all the liquids we can? Are you including broth? Gatorade? Popsicles?

Well from what I can remember (I left my book at home), our doctors are telling us that we will be on clear liquids for 7-10 days post-op. They don't want us to try to take the vitamins for the first week, and I don't think we even do protein for the first week...just clear liquids so our pouch doesn't have to work hard. The clear liquid diet includes water, crystal light, sf jello, sf popsicles and broth. After that, we get to go on Full Liquids, which includes our protein, supplements, sf pudding (I think) and strained cream soups.
Rachael, does this sound right to you....I'm going strictly from memory (which fails me sometimes).
So Brooke, How did your pre-op class go....any good info?

I did pre-op at the hospital (check-in, $ issues, blood work, interview with anesthesiologist etc. Then I went over to the surgeon's office and met with his assistant. She gave me a handout sheet and answered some questions. She says 5 days clear liquids prior and first week out. She gave me an info sheet from bariatriceating.com that has the New Whey Bullets etc. I am going to order some of those today to try to take some protein the first week out. It also suggests taking Crystal light with the Isopure clear fruit protein.

They also have Whey Protein bullets at WalMart. I think they are called Body Fortress or something like that. I have bought a couple of them. They only come in Fruit Punch right now, but I figure if enough people buy them, they may add more flavors. They cost only $1.97 each at my local Walmart.

Wow! That's a good price. What department did you find them in? Pharmacy area? They didn't have all of the flavors when I ordered them, so I got the fruit punch. Have you tried them?

Hey Brooke, They were near the pharmacy department. They are with the other protein supplements (near the vitamins). I haven't tried them yet...but I really want to. I have 2 of them just sitting in my pantry with all of the other protein that I have bought way to much of !!! Oh well, hopefully I will use it all! I've heard that they are very concentrated and quite strong...so you might want to mix it with some crystal light or something so the taste doesn't overpower you. Let me know if you try one.

Great - I'll go pick some up this weekend and let you know. I've been trying to load up on protein for the past month to try to store all I can. Don't know how much women can actually "store". I've put protein in everything! A friend gave me a large container of the tasteless whey and you can even put it in orange juice and never know it's there.

Hey Rachael,
I just had my H&P appt this morning...just got back to work actually and I was so excited to see your email. I didn't get to see any HOT Docs : ( Just females!
Yep, I'm starting my liquid diet on Monday. I'm nervous about it, but I think (hope) I can get through it. That's very sweet of you to offer to start early...but I don't want you to have to do it even longer...it is not going to be fun!
I was happy to hear that we only have to drink 3 Tbsp of the Phospha (sp?) Soda 2 days before and the day before the surgery! I was thinking we would have to drink a whole bottle or more...that that was a nice surprise!
As far as Kyoto's goes...I LOVE Japanese food!!! I think that would be really fun to get together. Would you mind if my hubby comes? I don't know if he will...he is really kind of a shy guy...but I know he would like it if I at least asked him : ) Plus, I am planning for my last meal...on Sunday...I want to go to Capt'n Georges!! I love love love seafood and I hear that is the best! He'll be going to that, so maybe he won't miss Japanese!
Thanks for the invite!!
