But you'll be spending less in the longrun.
If you're into budgeting or spreadsheets, give it a try. Just figure out what you spend in 1-week for food outside the home, then add in the home meals. I bet that you're spending $15 to $20 a day on average for eating and drinking.
After WLS, you'll need protein powder, perhaps you may use liquid protein. Because these are high costs (large containers, etc., ) you may think that the outlay is enormous, but it's at least half of what you used to spend. If you go generic, it's even less.
OK, now you have to take vitamins, when you probably didn't before. But what you're hoping for is not to spend the money on Rx drugs, and that will be a considerable savings for many.
So the money I'm saving on food, I'm putting away for new clothes - not interim clothes, but for my end wardrobe. I hope to treat myself to a guilt-free, credit-card free, $3,000 shopping spree after all is said and done (plastic surgery included) one and 1/2 to 2 years from now and according to my food and Rx budget, if all goes really well, I may be able to take that total to $5,000. So maybe I'll rent a limo to take me shopping. Or take a vacation, or go on a TT cruise. I've been an indoor closet fattie in denial for far too long, I'm gonna be steppin' OUT!

I have friends who are just over a year out and they have saved quite a bit of money on their food bills. They go out to lunch with me, take 3/4 of their portion home and it makes another 2-3 meals for them. Can't beat that!
I have one more question...technical...I love the bowling balls LOL. How do you add all of the stuff after your signature?

lol go figure! I liked the idea that it makes small portions and I can put a lid on it and stick it right in the fridge. Too late now, it's on its way! lol

Magic Bullet:
I've had my magic bullet for over 2 years and have used it nearly every day, from grinding coffee, to mixing up omelet specialties. I don't like the way it does onions, but it makes great drinks, great pudding, does leftover chicken into chicken salad well, and yes, salsa too. It takes a bit getting used to when you have to pulsate.
Bowling Ball Ticker:
I saw a Nutrisystem (I think) commercial where Larry the Cable Guy said he lost 5 ten pound bowling balls, and since I bowl, and I bowl using a 10 pound ball, I appreciated the comparison... So I just drew it and outlined my goal steps for myself - to keep an 'eye' on the prize - so to speak and taped (a larger) image to my fridge. Then I decided to scrap my ticker (from TickerFactory) and just shrink the image down so that I don't have to keep remembering to edit and update two things.
If you don't have a draw program on your computer, you can download a free version of what I use at http://www.freeserifsoftware.com/sof...us/default.asp It's what I started with years ago before I went pro. It's really pretty easy to use. Feel free to bowl away!
Once you make your drawing, you just size it up, export it as an image and upload it to the TT server, then link the image in your signature.

Design Websites? I used to, but I closed the business last year because I sat too much and now I'm paying for it... literally, a big pain in the butt. Now I only do maintenance on my big accounts and it gives me good residual income to pursue other things.
Now, I'll be pursuing more outdoor stuff that will require a minimal amount of sitting: like golf and salsa dancing. Ole!

I know what you mean about the butt sitting. I worked at home doing AutoCad drawings for about 10 years. Now I'm retired since we've moved to Pueblo. And the weather here is wonderful for going outdoors! I like your salsa plan!

Hi Jen,
Yes, the black is a separate layer. I couldn't figure out any other way to do it, and I thought the black visual for me, as to how far I'd come would be a good thing, rather than just to move the arrow.
Hi Brooke,
Did the butt thing ever get better for you? I'm not having hemorrhoids, it's just that my butt hurts when I'm sitting, after sitting for even just a few minutes, and when getting up, it stretches and it's very painful. But I can't walk long to stay on my feet, and Tylenol does absolutely nothing.
I'm from the disco era. It never died for me. I loved going out to nightclubs and dance and I used to dance a lot. I also did ballroom... oh, not "Dancing With The Star" fancy, but I loved to waltz, tango, rumba, even polka, about once a month, there was a dance somewhere in my community. I'm so glad ballroom is 'back in'. I even learned to 'belly dance' years ago... but Salsa really intrigues me - it's something I don't know and when I get 'me' back, I want to do new things that require my legs to move, like learning golf, and a few things for me to feel girly, like being salsa sexy.
