Well, I saw the psych doctor (20 minutes), he said I was a good candiate for surgery. So I am over that hurdle

Just two more nut appointments and the surgeon consult - then submit the paperwork to the insurance company.

I have my fingers crossed to be an August stapler!

Good Job on the psych! I was most scared about that appointment and it actually was one of the easiest. You are now well on your way to the Loser's Bench!

What happens during your psych apt? Do they just make sure you aren't crazy or what? Sorry, I'm just starting this process and I haven't done that yet.

congrats on that milestone.. it really felt like a "hoop" to me (I got my psych approval yesterday, including my last Nut appt, and my gall bladder ultrasound (TG: I have stones! Now they can take it out while they are in there!)...)

I don't have an op date yet, since I can't get in to interview the doc I think I want until OCTOBER.. I am hoping when he hears I could be "ready" if given 14 days notice, he will see me sooner (and seek to make a good impression!)... but I guess he is in high demand!

How tall are you?
What do you weigh?
How long have you been overweight?
Who is your support system?
Do you understand that you can not eat the way you did in the past?

That kind of thing.

Ah, we will probably have surgery around the same time. Awesome. My information will probably be submitted to insurance at the end of July as well.

I have my psych appointment scheduled for July 11th. I had my first psych appointment in February of 2007 (and passed), but I decided not to go through with the surgery that year since I was in high school. I got back on track this year, but I discovered that I had to take the exam over again since a year had passed since my old one. Oh well.
