Not technically, and not planned ahead of time, but due to previous surgeries, including a partial hysterectomy, I had adhesions in my abdomen that caused significant problems with my Lap RNY... my surgery ended up lasting 6 hours, and my doc said she basically had to scrape all my insides clean of the adhesions as she couldn't get all my parts to reach when she tried to reconnect my new pouch to my intestine.... her comment was that she basically had to dissect me and put me back together again, as all my organs had become 'glued together'.
From what I've read, edometriosis can cause adhesions so perhaps it would be a similar process?
Due to this extensive surgery and process, I stayed from 2pm until 9 or so in recovery, and stayed in the hospital for five full days, not the standard 2 or so.. I had eight lap sites, not the standard 5 or 6.. and I was out of work longer than average, needing 8 weeks before returning to work, though the last two were for dehydration issues, so I should've returned after 6.
