Default Taking Meds

Hi everyone! I have a question about meds. I take coumadin and I know that I have to go off before surgery. Since pills may hurt your pouch, what happens after surgery? Anyone experienced this?

Default Pills...

For me, I resumed taking my regular pills/vitamins when I got home from the hospital (day 2). If it is a big pill (larger than dime size) I cut it in half before I take it, but I may just be over-cautious! I take up to 3-4 pills at a time so that I don't get full from sipping/swallowing the pills over and over again.

Make sure you talk with your doc before the surgery and have him write down which of your meds to take once you get home and which you will need to wait to take and/or take in a different form. There really shouldn't be much of a change.

At the hospital, they will give you all your regular meds as soon as they can. Don't bring your meds to the hospital - just make sure you give the hospital a list of all your meds when they admit you for surgery.

I hope this helps!
