As some Folks here may remember I have been dealing with Preferred Care (Rochester, NY) and they require a 20 visit program of nutrition, behavior and exercise guru's. Well I finished that on May 6th. And usually the letter of completion and/or letter of recommendation takes about a week.
Everytime you call the insurance company no one knows if the nutrition part (at the BC) needed a referral or if it was covered as a regular nutrition program, so I called the Bariatric Center is find out the billing code and the lady said "Oh yeah I have your completion letter here in my hand" I was like WOW REALLY!!
She said that some insurance companies here do not require a referral for the nutrition, just the physc evaluation (and this part I can do a self-referral).
SOOO, I have my three appointments with the Nutritionist AND the physc scheduled!!!
I told the receptionist that I did not have a lot of faith in the insurance company and she said, "Don't lose any sleep over it - don't worry we will take care of it." Well I am still worried that I will have to fight with them, but it was nice to hear her being confidant.
OMG
I am on my way, I am hoping to join the August Staplers.
