I'm so MAD...this sucks
I'm halfway through this pre-op diet from hell.
I'll be honest, I havent been 100% faithful to the diet, it's been so hard.
I've been so MAD, literally ticked off most of the time. Cussing like a sailor, which isnt my normal MO, but I do have the capacity for a cuss word once in a while.
I have been going "julia sugerbaker" on anyone that needed it....(I'm from Mississippi, when I get mad, the accent gets thick and LOOK out, here comes my sermon)
anyway...on top of all this BS, I've only lost 6lbs.
I'm about to say it's just not worth it..if I can succeed at this, I cant succeed post op.
I'm just so sick of being MAD.
and I mean mad enough to throw something.

Hang in there hon. You'll be fine. Does the doctor have a nurse or nutritionist you can call and talk to? Maybe they can ease some of your fears and frustrations.
You have been and continue to be so strong through this, whether you think so or not!

You are almost there, Mom! Only one more week until surgery. Looking back on this later it will seem so short-lived.
Post-op, you body will really help you not eat the bad for you stuff or the stuff you are not ready to try yet. (Your head will be another story, but the body will help.)
Hang in there. Scream into a pillow... punch the bed... tear up a head of lettuce.
You can make it!!!

yup.. it sucks.
But just try and do the best that YOU can do. Anything you're doing is going to help shrink that liver, but try to stick with the liquids as much as you can.
REALLY important to do nothing but the liquids as directed i'd say for at LEAST 3-4 days prior to surgery to make sure your system is all sorted out. The diet is supposed to dramatically shrink the liver, but it also helps to keep the digestive track clear and moving easily in preparation for all the changes to come.
My mom lost 17 lbs before her surgery date and Dr Wagner was pleased and had no problems. I'm down somewhere around 10-11 lbs at this point, and anything more is only going to help.
It's tough tough tough. But I can FEEL the weight loss already and loving it. even 10 lbs and my clothes are fitting a bit better and my jeans are looser and longer hehe.
only another 6 1/2 more days to the start of a new life. We can both do this!
Besides, I need someone to walk the halls with after surgery, so you best be there!

I am so sorry you have to go through this! Sometimes I wonder about some doctors that make us do this pre-op. Many doctors say it's not really necessary, but I digress. YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!! You've come this far, you can't back out now. Even if you haven't lost much weight, I would be willing to bet that you have shrunk your liver. Even if you haven't, I can't imagine they would cancel you. It's not like they can see how big your liver is or whether you even have a fatty liver until they get in there. Once you're out and the tools are in, they'll just use the liver retractor and go at it. Good luck, and DON"T GIVE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Girl I had to do 10 days so I soooooo know what you are going through ... and I was mean too..... I think you really start to realize you are an emotinal eater and now that that has been taken away .. every emotion feels like anger. You will make it ... and after surgery you will still be angry a little but you will get passed it and then you will feel better and you will lose weight .. and everything willl be ok.

Thanks everyone..now I"m on to emotion TWO...
BAWLING!
my dh said that the anger was probably my alternative to emotional eating. I dont have any desire to eat, unless I'm hungry. Which HAPPENS on this liquid diet.
And not taking in nutrients just saps my strength. The least little thing wears me out and I'm ALWAYS dizzy.
I'm just so sick of feeling emotional, good or bad. I dont like feeling out of control, I'm ALWAYS in control, that is till now.
Crie, I'll be there, come hell or high water. I just may not be very NICE
the guys at work are going to get the pallet scale down so I can weigh myself, to see if it will boost my spirits. Or send me into a rage ROFL
Gotta love support, and thank God I have TT and my RL support team. My co-workers and family have been very supportive.
Only the dog keeps his distance from the crazy woman. Smart dog
