when I can tell my pouch is "there"...I stop. I can feel it doing it's thing, the gurgling and other nonsense that it does..so I stop. Last night I was lucky, I ate too fast and too much, or so I thought...when it dawned on me what I was doing I stopped. My grits werent thick, they were thinner actually than the yougurt I had this morning so apparently I got lucky.
I used fake butter and salt substitute in my grits, YUMO
If I could find a good SF jelly, I could try that too LOL

OK, I have to ask. You two had surgery 3 days after me... are you taking it upon yourselves to try food because you're tired of liquids, or has your surgeon told you you can eat? Although I'm also sick and tired of liquids - did it about the same length of time as you (self inflicted) - I'm STILL just doing liquids. I'm DYING for food, but I just won't do it. You need to give yourself, and your pissy pouch, time to heal.

my paperwork, unless I read it wrong, said I could add milk yesterday.
I took it upon myself to add SF pudding - a couple days ago.
The grits I can have officially in a couple weeks. I just had to try them. They are just a hair thicker than the creamy soups we can have.
The velvety potato is basicaly a creamy, blended potato soup. I dont drink much of it at anyway, but I have added it

Dr Dillemans Partner Agency
Hey everyone,
I recently booked my surgery through www.Euro-Weight-Loss-Surgery.com they are the cheapest prices in Europe for Dr. Dillemans in fact they are as cheap as booking direct with Dr. Dillemans himself. I would strongly recommend them. Best of look to all of you.

you know.. our diet progression depends on which pamphlet you read from the NUT. The two conflict each other in a couple of places. BUT they both say milk, protein supplements, vitamins, cream of wheat, grits, malt-o-meal or something like that, yogurt, and creamy or blended soups this week.
The only thing I tried was oatmeal that strayed which is technically next week. I thought it may be due to the larger size of the oatmeal and the thickness. So i actually whirled my packet of oatmeal in my blender to make it super fine like a malt-o-meal type deal and made it really runny with water.
The other night i had about 6 small bites of some cream of potato with broccoli that I had blended and it sat fine. was delicious. yesterday.. nope.. bleh.
I'm just having a rough time with food all together so far really. So i'm trying some different shakes, trying to get in all those daily vitamins ( i need to get a pill organizer today i think to help me) and just forcing in as much liquids as i can. Figure if I can't eat, i need to make sure i'm at the very least hydrated.
I don't know if its normal... but from what i've seen around the forums, i'm losing my weight like most of the men here. I don't know if its because i'm so much larger that I'll lose the underlying fat faster? I weighed this morning and i'm down another 7 lbs since wednesday morning? Although.. i was bloated still on wednesday and today feeling pretty normal. Think I finally got rid of a lot of the gas and IVs they pumped me full of. Just kinda scary to think i can lose that much weight in one week

you are so right about the info we have conflicting each other...
I just decided to use common sense. Take a small bite and wait, if the pouch doesnt object...take a little more.
I eat/drink really slow, give my pouch time to deal with what its digesting.
I havent weighed in a few days, I dont know what I've lost or not lost...
I think since you are so tall, you'll lose faster like the men....

Really nice to hear the progress you are both making. Keep up the good work. Are you crushing your vitamins and medications? How does your new pouch handle these? Debs

i'm actually not on any medications. never have been suprisingly for my weight.
I took milady beth and deborah's suggestion and am trying the building block vitamin series. All of them are chewable and not too horribly bad. They almost taste tooo sweet to me, but I have that wierd nothingtastesgood thing going on. I have the chocolate chewable calcium citrate, black raspberry iron, mixed berry multi and cherry anti-ox along with my b12 sublingual tabs, thiamin (very very small pill i can swallow) and some chewable pepcid to prevent ulcers (directed to take this for the first 3 months by our surgeon)

I actually just cut my vitamin in 3 pieces and swallowed them. Same with the other stuff....I have liquids but I dont want to taste any more liquid meds than I have to
I have one pill I have to open and kinda mix with something and eat with a spoon, it's a time release that they said I really can open and take at once, against mfg recommendations.
