Hi Deb

I'm doing pretty well all in all. Just out a bit over 2 weeks now and returning to work full time tomorrow.

The incisions and healing are doing excellent. I hardly even notice them anymore, and haven't really had much pain since the day after surgery. Just a bit of tenderness, but nothing since the first few days out thankfully.

I feel pretty good too. Yesterday I think I pushed it too hard and my DH and I took my 5 yr old nephew to the Renaissance Festival. It was HOT really really hot and humid and even with my big canteen of ice water was miserable. Lots of walking and sunshine made for a dizzy me at times. Today the legs are a bit sore as an aftermath, but we all had a really good time.

As far as food.. well.. i'm still struggling. Most things we're allowed in our plan at this stage I don't like.. so my food variety is pretty limited. I"m tired of graham crackers, peanut butter, string cheese and potatoes. And have another week and half until I can progress the diet more.

But for now, I'm just trying to make sure that I get in all my vitamins and drinking as much water as i possibly can and trying some protein. Most of them I can't stomach.. so blah

Most times I don't feel like eating. I think today all I've had is lots and lots of water, vitamins, 1/2 a protein drink blech and about 1/2 cup of hearty vegetable soup when I went out with the family for brunch. Oooooh and I found a new best friend! The place we brunched at is a "granola" type place as my sister says. Turkey sausage, egg whites, cholesterol free, fruit with every meal, etc. Well that lovely place had tropicana sugar free lemonade. I'm in love <3.
I know that I can't drink them often because of the acid in the lemons, but it sure is a nice treat on a hot day.

tastier than crystal light and a nice change. They also have a minute maid light raspberry passion with very very low sugar that I bought some of to try as well.

Anywho.. I should get to bed. I can't believe i have to set the alarm tomorrow Hope i won't get exhausted trying to work a full day.

Crie, Sounds like things are going good. Thats great that you were up to getting out and walking in the heat being just 2 weeks out. And now going back to work, my hat off to you. Try not to over do and wear yourself out.

I think I will also have a hard time on the kind of foods that are allowed at the beginning. I'm not into pureed foods and broths but I guess I will have to get used to it. Have you tried sugar free popsicles? I think they would be great in the hot weather. That lemonade sounds great...

How much weight have you lost so far? Hope you are having a good day at work. Debs

I've found lemonade to be very settling to my stomach. St Louis Bread Co has a lemonade slushie drink now, and it's AWESOME. I sip on a small one for a long time and it is really refreshing and satisfying. They must make it from fresh lemons b/c I cant find any other lemonade that matches the taste. Everything else is too sweet.

Iced tea with slenda is good too...

I have no idea what I'm supposed to be eating....I really dont eat anything. I try bites of the soft juices and mushed up food that I cook for the family but nothing of real substance.

I had a small bowl of mushy cereal once, oatmeal, once...grits twice...mashed potatoes twice but not much else. I really dont know when the last time I ate anything substantial...but then again, I dont want it...

so, I dont care LOL

Oh, one time, I took a bite of fried chicken just to bite it, and I spit it out LOL
