Question Passed my 2nd Psych Evaluation

Hey everyone, I went to Greenville today and saw my referring therapist.. and she said I was emotional ready for surgery!! Yeah!! I have been in therapy for a month and I'm going to continue with it as long as possible, well not just because I need it, my therapist is such a pleasure to be around and she emotionally supportive!! So now I'm waiting on a surgery date.. My two down falls are quitting smoking ( Did the Chantix and I was one of the people who ended up getting more depressed ) So I had to stop.. Her and my primary recommended ( Wellbutron ) I know I completely butchered the spelling.. Has anyone taken this before or are currently on it? They both said it is a great device for helping quit smoking as well as depression.. Any advice would be great!! Thanks!!

Hi.. I took wellbutrin for a while.. it helped some.... It helped a friend of mine to quit smoking, too.

The good thing about wellbutrin is that it does not negatively affect one's libido the way most AD's tend to do.. that was pretty important to me so I was happy about that.. In the end, I needed a different type, and am no longer on any..

Good luck!

Wellbutrin is an AD medication, re-formulated and marketed as Zyban to aid in smoking cessation programs. It works well for loads of people, but in some it causes bad nightmares and palpitations.
Unfortunately I had the latter....

I tried both Chantix and Wellbutrin to quit smoking. I have smoked a pack of day for the past 16 years. LOVED SMOKING!! How I quit was that when I had my surgery I had Lap RYN, and really was in very little pain from the surgery. I was though really "nic fitting" out. So I just used my morphine pump a lot while the nicotine worked it ways out. It worked! I have tried to quit a ton of times, but never could. I have 6 children, 4 of them are special adoptions and I can get pretty stressed. What I have done is started using the patch, when I get so stressed Least I have dropped the habit part of it, and am slowly working on the other part.

Funny story... They always say that you should exercise instead of smoke. Thought I would try it. Went to the gym when I had just started to PMS, I was sooooooooo crabby going through my first period without my crutch. Went to the gym and was on the treadmill WALKING. There was three ladies with there skinny bra tops on talking to each other and running. I could not even breath let a alone have a conversation while I was on the treadmill. I was way more crabby after leaving the gym as I was before I started.

Hope you can do, It is so awesome not to stink. My teeth are so white, and my kids are pumped.

Take Care,
Michelle
