Cardiac Evaluation
One of the last tests I have scheduled is a Cardiac Evaluation. Does anyone know what this could consist of?
Thanks,
Mike

Hi, Mike
I had an EKG, something weird on it, so I had an echocardiogram and stress test. Everything was fine, but was nervewracking. Those are the only tests I had for cardio, which were done 6 months prior to my consult actually. I had a couple of weird EKG's, a blip was going up instead of down or the other way around. But that all I know of.
Hope that helps, good luck. Getting those tests done and out of the way! Yea!

You get hooked up to a bunch of electrodes, and they put you in a nice warm bath. Then they throw in a blow dryer and see how your heart handles a few thousand volts.
You will have spikey hair for a few days, and you can light up lightbulbs like Uncle Fester for about 6 hours.
But seriously, when I had a test done before surgery, they just hooked me up to an EKG machine, and I had to sit there bored to tears for an hour or so.

Which is scarier? The electrocution, or the boredom?

Cardiology test
Hey, Anne, did they say you had "Inverted T waves"? Cause that's what they told me, they were pointing the wrong way, and it could be because of a blockage! So, I've been a little stressed about it, we don't do a dye test until May 12... which I guess means they aren't THAT concerned about it, since they didn't schedule it right away
No, Rob, that's not the EKG, that's the EEG, remember??? Electric = brainwaves
*hugs*

I would be afraid for all of humanity if someone tried to read my brain waves.

Val,
I believe that's what I have. My ekg was wacked 2 years in a row, the first year I had a stress test. Totally normal, except I couldn't breathe cuz of my weight. The second year, I got the echocardiogram. Again, totally normal except my heart is slightly enlarged, again due to my weight and blood pressure. I also had phen-phen for over a year. That was another reason my pcp wanted the echo. So, I have no clue why my ekg is abnormal. That's just me, I guess. I always knew I was a little abnormal!
Try not to worry, I'm sure everything is fine.
