Default I Got My Date

I got my date today everyone. Its looking to be on the 16th of July. Anyone around that date besides me. I really can't wait. I do have a question for you guys who have been through this. How did you deal with the emotional side? I keep crying every time I talk about this. Its not a bad cry but a cry none the less. I keep crying at the drop of a hat. I mean and when I stop I just want to laugh...LOL Is this normal. or am I losing it . Somebody please help me. Thanks so much.....

It is SOOOO normal!!! Don't even worry about it. Anxiety, excitement, anticipation all rolled into a huge ball of emotions! You are right where you are supposed to be.

Bridget

Thanks so much you are so cool. I met you at the last support group but was pretty shy about coming up and talking to anyone. I hope you are going to be at the one the first week of July. You know I've been telling my friends and family about what you went through at work with that girl and how sweet you are on here with all the love and things. I talk about this group all the time because you guys are a great support for us. You make me feel some what normal with all I'm going through.

Karen
Thanks so much for the kind words it really does help to know you have been through all this before.

Will you girls be at the meeting the first week of July at Dr. Callery/Dr. Potts office.

Tonya,

I am right there with you on emotions, except my mom is the one crying. My husband and kids are so excited for me. I feel very lucky to have support everywhere. See ya in the halls of the hospital.

Bridget,
thanks for your support.
I hope to meet all of you soon...

At least I will know someone in the hospital that day. Are you going to be at the support group in Dr. Callery/Dr. Potts office the first week of July. If so I'm going to have to find you so I can put a face with all the kind words. I'm so happy we both finally made it here. We are almost to the other side now. Can't wait to meet you. Talk to you soon.

Question

Okay...which meeting are you talking about? The pre-op support group? I will try to make it to that one. I know I am going to the early post-op support group on the first Tuesday so if I can get a babysitter for the pre-op group too...I will be there.

Default Thanks Everyone

I didn't know if this site was just for the patients or not, but I had to let you all know what listening to you, and talking to you, has done for my daughter, Tonya. As you all know she got her date yesterday!!! YEAH!!! But she is an emotional wreck...Of course I'm sure you all know what that makes me CRAZY!! Bridgetgirl you are her inspiration, we heard you talk last month at the meeting what you had to say was great. (YOU GO GIRL). If anyone can tell me what I should or should not do for Tonya that would be great. What were some of the things that you needed from your buddy that you didn't get? Or things that your buddy did that drove you crazy? All responses are welcome. Nothing quite like a roller coaster ride with your only child. Thanks again everyone for all of your support.

What a good Mom you are to care enough to come on here to find answers to help your daughter!!!! I think that's wonderful!!! I can't help you, because I'll be in the hospital the same time Tonya will, but, she has my prayers, as do you!! My surgery is Tuesday, if I'm not mistaken, hers is Thursday, so, I may be going home that day if all goes well, but, we'll pass in the halls possibly, and if I'm still there on Friday, then I'll make sure to check on her!! I'm the mom of an only child too, he's 29 and lives in Florida, much too far away
so, I know what you're feeling... Hang in there k?

Hugs to you and your family~
Love and prayers~

Smile Tonya and mom

You guys are so sweet! Thank you for all the positive feedback... I will be sure to visit you at the hospital if that is okay with y'all. I will try my best to be at the meetings as well. You guys are great.

Buddy advice: I wasnt able to have a buddy at the hospital, something came up and she couldnt make it. So I was a loner Dotty, a rebel.
I enjoyed the quiet... I am a mom so enjoyed the couple days of peace.

Mom...... I'm sure, just by you being there is going to do a world of good for Tonya. Getting unconditional support is the best. You sound like a great team, I wish you the best of luck! I look forward to seeing you guys again.
