I am one week out from surgery today - May 8th - and I'm very thankful for this forum and all of you who have taken time to respond to my various posts. Mainly I think I was looking for assurances and support and you have all been very helpful. Today was the first day that I allowed excitement about my "new lifestyle" to over run the clouds of fear and anxiety. I'm more secure in the knowledge that this is the right choice for me and my family. Thank you!

I have continued to feel optimistic and excited about the future through the preparation, surgery and afterwards... even when I was feeling scared about surgery itself (like 30 mins before lol) I was still so sure this was the right thing, and am still so sure that it acts as kind of a bubble that keeps me up

it's a nice feeling, isn't it?
