Default OMG.....I'm approved!!!!!!!!

I'm still freaking out. I actually started hyper-ventilating for a little while and had to breath into a bag, and calm myself down, lol.

Earlier today, I got a call on my machine from a nurse at my insurance company. I called her back, and got HER voice mail. I knew my stuff was submitted to insurance last Thursday or Friday, and was thinking this was a problem about something. She didn't call me back, so after I got off work, I tried her number again and finally got ahold of her....OMG, I'M APPROVED!!! I was on my cell phone, and had to pull off onto the side of the road, because I was too excited to drive safely.

And yes, there was a problem...the problem is, is that the insurance company doesn't have a surgery date to put in their records. I tried calling my surgeon's office to get scheduled, but they were already gone for the day.

It's weird, I didn't think I wouldn't get approved, because from everything I was told my insurance company is good with approvals. But, I'm shaking all over, and I have butterflies in my tummy. But, it's like my last pre-op hurdle (except the liquid diet, lol) has finally been jumped. And the Pointer Sisters song "I'm So Excited" has been running through my mind since I got off the phone.

Oh, and the icing on the cake? When I got home and opened my mail, there was a letter from my insurance company. Just in case I thought I was dreaming up the entire call, I got an approval letter, dated 4-27! Woo Hoo!

I am so happy for your Sherry. I remember my call like it was yesterday. I too was driving in my car when she asked me if I was sitting down and said BCBS had approved it. I had to stop and cried. She was comforting me. What ever the date it will be here before you know it. You are in for one of the most exciting changes of your life. Congrats again.

Thanks, I really don't think I'll ever forget the feeling I have today...kind of like the feeling you have when you find out you're pregnant, only way different, lol.

Thanks Corrine. I'm hoping that I'll find out tomorrow. I called the surgeons office as soon as I was off the phone with the insurance company, but it was just after 4:00, and they had just left for the day. I left a message though.

Hi Deborah! The approval letter I got is actually dated for 4-27 (Sunday). Isn't that strange? You wouldn't even think that anyone would have been working on Sunday, huh? Anyway, it was submitted on either Thursday or Friday, so it was approved quickly. I'm so happy I can't see straight. I left a message with the Dr's secretary, but I'm going to call tomorrow morning and bug her anyway and see if I can get my surgery date. Thanks for the compliment on the pre-surgery diet....I don't actually feel like I've done too well on that though. I keep having "Last Meal" syndrome, over and over again. Here's the bad thing....my wedding rings are STUCK on my finger, and have been for about 3 years. Unless I drop about 20 more lbs before the surgery, I'm going to go to the jeweler and get them cut off before the surgery. Oh yeah, I've tried soap, baby oil, Crisco, everything!
