I haven't bought any new smaller clothes yet, but I still have clothes that I used to fit into. Last week, I was 20 lbs down on my pre-op diet and I put on some pants I hadn't worn in almost 8 years. And they weren't even tight! This is crazy. I'm already smaller than I was when I got married and my hubby can't keep his hands off of me (but he had that problem before I was losing too ).

I didn't want to "jinx" anything... so I haven't bought any smaller clothes yet, even 3 months out! I have old stuff in the closets waiting for me.

Right now I'm sort of enjoying wearing stuff that used to be TIGHT on me... it hangs on me now : ) Waiting for someone to tell me it looks ridiculous before I put it in the Goodwill pile...

I've not bought a single thing.. I'd saved all my various sized clothes throughout the years and so far, I've managed to avoid having to buy a thing.. even bras.. I found a box of 30+ different bras in various sizes! Good Grief, I am an insane person.

And like mdallas above, I must've been wearing my clothes REALLY tight (or they were really stretchy) because it's only been the last couple weeks I had to get out of most of the clothes I've been wearing all along and I've lost 67 lbs so far!.

I don't plan on buying until I'm absolutely forced to do so.. I own both a regular sewing machine as well as an overlock/serger so my plan is to alter as much as I can for now, to save money. As I said in the 'stimulus check' thread.. I'm a single parent with two kids in college.. and my wedding to plan for, so I'm in no rush to pay money for clothing that won't fit a few weeks later. Luckily for me, I've favored more classic styles over the uber-trendy so I'm doing okay with the older clothes.. nothing I've kept looks too silly (at least to me, LOL)

I bought a few sweater type shirts when things were marked down 75% at Macy's. My 20s are getting too tight and I have things in my closet down to size 16, so I should be ok for awhile.

what a great post! I bought a few things from the second hand store and from ebay and love to "fit" into them all the ones i bought presurgery that were WAY TOO TIGHT are now too loose on me so onto my next "group" of sizes 18W and even some 18!! I just bought a girrdle today because my "rolls" in the front are preventing me from wearing some of the 18's not the 18W so i hope that will work. I cant even remember when i was in a 16 probably 10 years ago or longer

Ditto to that. Although I did go through my "skinnier clothes" last year and got rid of the hopelessly out-of-style things. I'm in a 22W now (starting to get a bit baggy with my 19 lb loss so far), and I've got a decent assortment of clothes all of way down to size 10. So other than buying undies and bras, I'll just probably have to buy some odds and ends and "wants".

We have a store near me called Gabriel Brothers where everything is DIRT CHEAP. Now granted, you must check everything for holes before you buy it, lol.

I've been a 22 for so long I got rid of everything, other than my favorite jeans that I rarely fit into - they're a 20. I did pick up some 16 shorts at a support meeting last night.

I would buy mini-goal jeans throughout my journey. I always picked them up at a consignment shop, so I didn't spend much but they were always like 2 sizes too small. It was always my own little WOW when I could get into them. Once I could wear them I went out and bought another pair that were my next mini goal jeans. It was kinda fun.

I already posted above, but I've had a slight change in plans I think. I just thought about this....I'm having surgery on May 29, and by early August I hope to be down enough so that my shorts are literally falling off me. (They are already getting loose because I've lost 19 lbs in the last few months.) So, I will probably need to buy about 2 pairs of shorts...enough to just get me by at home, since I don't wear them to work. I don't think I'll wait until August to buy them, because as we all know, by the time August rolls around only fall clothes will be in the stores, lol. The problem is, I have no clue what size to buy. I wear a 22W or 2X now, so I wonder what I'd wear by late summer in August?

As far as the rest of my clothes, like I posted above, I have lots of stuff in my closets. But for whatever reason, I got rid of my smaller shorts.

Any recommendation on what size of shorts I might want to buy? I'm 5'5", with average length legs, and my current weight is posted below. I'll be sure to buy from a store with a decent return policy and save the receipt too.
