Question Girly Question...Dont Look Boys!

This is a general female question.

I had to be taken off birth control about a year ago due to blood clots in my lungs. I was on it for 8 years.

My period is very irregular. I have had my period of and on for the last month. Spotting almost everyday. Is this normal for heavy women? Or should I see a doctor? And...when I do finally have surgery will it get worse?

Thanks for anyones input!

hey Megan

Not sure if its "normal" but we're about the same size to start with.. and i spot almost daily also. Its been to the point that i wear pads daily just in case! I can go from 0 to 60 without any onset warnings. Sucks.

Although, my doctor said that a few months post-op I should start having more regular cycles again. I haven't had one of those in probably a good 4-5 years.

but kinda on the same subject.. and kinda icky lol. With the unknown spotting and cycles.. what happens if I have it in the hospital? I know that I'll have the catheter in for the first night at least.. don't think I can walk with that tube and no panties/pad if I'm having issues. Did anyone run up against this? Its kinda embarassing for me to ask my doctor.. and i'm such a private person i'd rather be prepared for it ahead of time

Hi Megan,

I was the exact opposite. I would go months and months (up to 6 or 7) at a time without having a period. I was okay with that. Now...2 years out from surgery and I have been very regular since about 6 months out. I have it every month now.

Thanks for responding girls!

Crie...Now I'm all worried about the hospital too!! Geeze! But my surgery is not until August, so I have time to worry. But we are about the same size! You have to keep me updated with your progress!! Good Luck! You'll do great I'm sure.

Hi Cindy!
I get worried if I dont have it on a regular basis because I havent had children yet and when I have regular periods its like..ok everything is working right. The irregular thing is making me nervous! But hopefully everything will be fine when I lose weight. Hey good luck on the 5 day pouch test! You'll do great!

Thanks Megan!

Please don't worry... when I was a teenager and into my 20's I was in the low 200's and my period was wacky...it wouldn't come every 28 days... sometimes it would come early...sometimes a couple of weeks late. I thought for sure I would have problems getting pregnant.... I didn't have ANY problems. I was pregnant both times right when we "tried". Don't worry until you have been trying for months and months.
