Default Ready to have a drink

Hey all,

Had a question about having a drink. I am almost 4 months and just came back from Vegas. I was afraid to have a drink, cause I really do not know which ones have sugar in them.

I have been having red wine ( I am Italian, gota have it ) And doing fine with that. I am a light weight, always have been.

I noticed many post ops are having martinis, lemon drops, margaritas???

How, does one know what is ok and what to stay clear of. I am purely a social drinker, pre-op I drank less than 1x a month.

Any tales to share??

Rain

Smile Drinker here

Its all trial and error sugar pea. First I tried out by mixing Vodka, Cranberry juice AND water, I did this for a couple of months, then I tried Lemon Drops, and I didnt dump! I have also tried Margaritas, but the sweet ans our mix is touch and go with me, sometimes its too much I feel lousy after I have one on occasion, I think that it mayhave to do with quality of which sweet n sour mixer the bar is using, I find that often they are too sweet but EL Toritos and On the Border make kick ass Margaritas and I do okay there... also I noticed if Im at happy hour or social gathering and I have a Lemon Drop or Margarita I have to be VERY AWARE not to "munch" on anything sweet, the sugar from the mixer and the sugar from the sweet make me dump EVERYTIME! One cookie, I dont care how small, a peppermint dinner mint... whatever makes me ill- so I stay clear from it.

Prior to surgery I always drank Patron Silver on the rocks with a twist of lime... I have found after surgery that this is incredibly way too strong and I no longer enjoy it. This is my story on how my drinking evolved..... good luck to you.

I want one but had to take a pain killer so I have to wait a little longer. I went from 9pm last night until 3PM today before I broke down and took one. Damn my stomache muscles hurt so bad.
