Post I'm new at this posting stuff. I'm also new to this forum.

Hi everyone,
My name is Linda and I have just started this journey. I have turned in my initial paperwork and am waiting for the phone call for Dr Callery consult.
To let you all know a little about me and the most important is that in 1987 I was one of the test cases for this surgery. I did really well losing 158 lbs. My problem started when giving birth to my daughter (now 15). The staples are leaking and I am hoping to have the surgery done over. It is a different surgery than what I had (my pouch is still attached to my stomach). Also the process is much different as well.
I am really excited to get this journey started and hope I don't have to wait too ling for my surgery date. Any suggestions to ease the pain of waiting? I've chewed my nails to nothing already.

Smile Hi

Hi Linda,

Get a hobby! Kidding, but not. I'm still trying to learn knitting. I'm having to deal with no eating, drinking, smoking............what is left!!!???! I'm still working on what I can eat, and I need to get in a routine for exercise.

I know I just did everything I could ahead of time, so when I got my consult, I already had most of my tests and evals already done.

Good luck, stay tuned on this site. Everyone is out at the beach today. Big Beach Party at San Elijo!! I couldn't go, going to a jazz festival. Hang in there!!

Question I'm new at this posting stuff. I'm also new to this forum.

Thanks Anne

Maybe I'll try picking up my crochet needle again. So far I have made my appointment for the well women physical and have also asked for copies of some of the tests MRI and Upper GI series along with the reports that Dr Callery needs. Does he really make everyone go through all those tests even if you are in good health?

Hi Linda,
It sounds like we are about in the same stage of our wls. I will be sending all of my info to Dr. Callery tomorrow. Then I will be with you on the waiting for a call bit. I am sorry to hear of your complications from your first surgery. The surgeries have definitely come a long way. I am sure this one will be the answer. Hope you get a call soon!

Talking I got my consult date

I'm sooooo excited. I just got a call from the office. My consult is with Dr Potts on 4/27. It seems like next week I will be living at doctors offices to get all the testing done.

Wink Hi Future Loser

Hollie

Who knows maybe we'll see each other along the way. It's great to know that there are always others having to go through this process.

Pam

Thanks for the encouragement. Now I think I will go buy some yarn and learn to crochet all over again. As I recall the last time I crocheted it was to lose weight to go into the Navy. Gosh that was so long ago (1976).

Yes, Dr. Callery orders all of the tests that you need to do even if you are in good health. He wants to make sure of it. I had to have an echocardiogram because I took phen/phen for years...I was so happy he made me take it. Any doctor that does not check everything is not worth it in my book.

Hang tight....it is all worth the tests and waiting.
