Question Blood clots and The GBP

I was just wondering if anyone suffered from blood clots before they had their surgery and what to expect? To give a little more information about me.. I suffer from blood clots and I actually had an arotic embolism which dissolved from the grace of God and been in remission for 6 months without embolism!! But I do still suffer from blood clots.. I am on blood thinners and my surgeon was telling me that he has only had two patients who had the gbp that suffered from the same condition as me, one did well and the other had complications but was okay, he was telling me that I would need to have a filter put by my heart to make sure none was thrown, this is really scary for me.. but I'm hoping for the best out come.. I am hoping once the weight comes off that the blood clots won't be so painful considering they always go to my feet So any feedback, with anyone who has experienced any of this would be great!! Thanks again in advance!!

Heather

I'm leaving right now to have an IVC filter put in. My surgeon recomends this for almost everybody. I'd rather have somethin I don't need than to need something I don't have.
BTW - I don't believe this but everybody says the filter placement is easy. I'll let you know when I wake up.
