Hi,

I found this forum yesterday while looking for some online support. I have my surgery date for May 3rd and am completely terrified (of what, I'm not sure). I have a million questions but can't think of a single one right now. I guess I am wanting to know the good, bad, and ugly with this surgery. I don't know what to expect because I don't have many to talk to who have gone through with this. Any help and advice would be great. I am much better at answering questions then I am at asking them. It seems like I can't focus on anything else at the moment.

Smile Hope..........

Dear Hope,

Don't worry...... All post-ops have gone through this fear. We know EXACTLY how you feel. Rest assured, you will be fine. Go through with it, as nerve racking as it is. It's worth it.

I remember crying in the operating room. I felt guilty for taking the chance of dying during surgery when I have two kids to finish raising. But, I woke up after surgery and am doing GREAT nine months later! I've lost at least 100 lbs and all of my previous health issues are gone!

So, don't worry. You'll be fine. You have such a bright future ahead of you. You'll see. We'll talk to you in nine months and you will beat to a different drum then.

If you weren't scared you would be abnormal! This is a scary proceedure and nervousness and fear are what you should feel. It is great to have you here! This is a wonderful support group. If you have any questions just ask! Send me a private message if you want too. I'm 7 weeks out and down 47 lbs!!! Remember, there is no such thing as a stupid question!
