Touchy Subject: Has Anyone from These Forums....Died?
With my surgery fast approaching on the 28th of this month I've been having second thoughts and reconsidering...
I know this is a sensitive question, but has anyone who has posted on here died after having gastric bypass surgery? Or is this a rare occurance as my surgeon has told me?

I can't answer your question because I don't know.
But as an adjunct to the subject, has anyone done much research on the long-term impact of WLS in relation to early death or different health risks that are due to WLS?

Have not heard of anyone.
But if I die tomorrow it's okay because the quality of life I have had in the last few months are worth a lifetime....

LMAO! I KNEW somebody would mention that....Good one Cindy
I'm asking like, if anybody has died that used to post on these forums, and then have their family members post after their death saying how bad the sugery is, it took away their loved one....etc. etc. Has it happened?

Yes,
some irate young chap was on a few days ago, with a thread similar to "Mother Dead!".
HOWEVER, I would grab the chance you are offered with both hands and feet - what Claire has written above fits like a glove. The quality of life can be SO VERY MUCH better than it is now...
I am 4 months out and feeling great. If "anything" were to happen to me now, I would still say that these 4 months have been among the best in my life and worth every moment! So, I am eating life like there is no tomorrow! You only get one chance at existing.
Do really hope to see you on the losers' bench (where we all sit and chat after surgery!).
Cheers,
Vim

Vim - I don't think the Mother was ever a member of TT.
I know that Obesity Help has a memorial board but that's not clear cut. A few died from things not related to WLS.

To the best of my knowledge no one has died since I have joined the board. There have been a few that have been very, very sick...and you can find those posts by doing a search. The longer I am here, the more I realize that I don't think death is the thing people should really worry about when it comes to this surgery. The worse thing is a long and debilitating illness due to your body's inability to cope with the changes the surgery brings. This HAS happened since I have been here, and I think the financial burden, emotional stress, and overall pain and suffering is 100x worse than death! If you die, that's it, it is over the end. Your NOT going to care at that point. If however you survive and things go all hooey...and your body is fighting this battle against instead of with you....well then...I think that is even worse.
Goodness, I don't mean to scare you, but I think we put too much emphasis on death, when in reality, that is not the complication people should be focusing on....IMHO!
