Nobody that I know of since I have been here. One on Obesity Help I remember a while back...he was a pretty sick man.

I know of one member here that almost died and ended up with blood clots and had a really really hard time. I encouraged her to come back, however she is still recovering and its been over a year. I think of her often.....and know her story would really help others, but it up to her to tell it. I just wish her well.

there is nothing wrong with understanding that it can happen and does. There are very very very very good chances you will live very happily after your RNY, and sadly there is a chance there might be complications.

For me I sat and read the Obits on Obesity Help.com, and cried for 2 hours.

Nothing wrong with asking, I would check out the OH boards.

The worse thing is a long and debilitating illness due to your body's inability to cope with the changes the surgery brings. This HAS happened since I have been here, and I think the financial burden, emotional stress, and overall pain and suffering is 100x worse than death! If you die, that's it, it is over the end. Your NOT going to care at that point. If however you survive and things go all hooey...and your body is fighting this battle against instead of with you....well then...I think that is even worse.

Goodness, I don't mean to scare you, but I think we put too much emphasis on death, when in reality, that is not the complication people should be focusing on....IMHO!
Just a l'il hi-jack...Zen, you always tell it like it is. I love your brand of wisdom.

Goal! I did it!
111 pounds gone since my RNY
125 total pounds gone forever!
Maintaining within a few pounds up and down. 130 is my goal and I've been hovering a pound or two over it for months now.
BMI 22.3
