San Diego PCP

I need a new pcp since I'm changing insurance. I'll have HealthNet and I need a doc that will be supportive with my decision. I have already started my 6 month diet with Kaiser and will hopefully be allowed to continue with HealthNet and not have to start over! I'm hoping to get my letter of recommendation within the first few weeks. Will I need a referral? I have orientation on April 28th- will I need it by then or soon thereafter?
Anyone know a GREAT PCP in San Diego?
