Default Advice.....

I had my primary doc appt on Thursday 03/20/08 picked up my referrals....scheduled all my appts except for the Upper GI test b/c the machine at the hospital where my primary is affliated with has a weight capacity.....so I'm going to schedule an appt at the hospital where surgery is going to get done for this exam....I outreached to my primary doctors office on 03/24/08, so I can get another referral with a "out of cap certification #".... the receptionist said she will work on it.....mind you there is only one person at the desk.....I waited 3 days with no call back...so I decided just to call and follow up with her....she picks up the phone and I said was I'm just checking the status of the referral...She flipped out saying we are a very busy office, and I havent had a chance to work on it...but I will call you....here we are 12 days later with no call....WTF.....mind you this lady walks around like her $hit dont stink.....I feel like calling back and speaking with the doctor personally...but I dont want him jumping down my throat as well.....advise por favor?

You can call the office manager, but the Dr will not talk to you on the phone. Since it has been another week since your last call, call again. No harm in following up at all. If she screams about how "busy" she is tell her you understand.... being mean back will not benefit you at all. If it has not been faciliated by now, make an appt to see the Dr. then have it done in office at that time. A pain in the ass I know, but the squeaky wheel get sthe grease!

I agree with everyone else. What is the worst they are gonna do tell you not to call back, then I would still call again I if wanted to. Stay diligent they are working for you. Best of luck the waiting game sucks.

Default UPDATE: Speaking of the devil...lol

I received a call from my primary receptionist, and she updated me that the authorization request for the GI study is being reviewed by my insurance so I can be seen at another office....

Scheduled a pulmonary function exam for April 17th!....only thing left to schedule is that GI study, and I'm set.

Question for you guys/gals.... When you went throught your pre-op testing..were there tubes or scopes going down your throat????? just wanted to make sure I can go solo to the appt, or have someone with me to drive.

I didn't have any pre op testing that required tubes, cords or being hooked up to anything or than the basic ekg to listen the the old ticker. I also met with the nutritionist and phsyc eval. Other than that I did nothing else. Good luck with the appts.
