What an honor!
My name is Matt and I'm from the Huntsville, AL area. I'm 5'8, 297 lbs with a bmi of 46. Only major problem besides my weight is severe sleep apnia.
Insurance is cool. I'm headed to Vegas the first week of June to celebrate my 30th birthday. My surgery is scheduled 2 weeks after my return.
Just thought I'd post and give a quick 'hey' to everyone! It seems like you all have a nice forum here, so I'm sure I'll be posting from time to time.

Welcome to our family. Have a blast in Vegas. Make sure you hit all the buffets, because after WLS you won't want to waste your money on one.  The fat girl in me says go to the Rio, it's the biggest one that I've ever seen.

Funny little Irish tale
Welcome! Great to have you! Vegas is the adult version of Disney world! I had a great time. Anyway, I have a funny story for you-My Grandmother and I went to Ireland for two weeks in 2001. I drank like a fish the whole trip and she thought I was on drugs (she alwasys has long story). Here I am driving along on the wrong side of the road and the wrong side of the car and she decides to enlighten me an the truth about Ireland. She says, "There are no drugs at all in Ireland." I of course laugh hysterically. I said you know there are lots of bands and party people here you know. I said, "Hell, Bono is from Ireland." She says, "He is not! He is from California! I remember when him and Cher had that show." I almost wrecked the car and then i had to tell her, "That's Sonny Bono!" I know it's silly, but it still cracks me up!!! great to have you posting!!
