Wink I got my date today !!! and I have questions ???

Hello,

I got my date today!! My rebirth is April 7th. This is fast . I have a couple questions.
1) What brand of broth are you using if you are currently on a liquid diet??

2) What type of protein have you found to work best???
(- side note , mt doctor would like me to have one protein drink a day in replacement of a meal until have surgery?? )

I have previously read that the Fuzzy Navel protein mix is good , however I want to order that to have after I have surgery.

Thanks for your assistance. I look forward to hearing from you.

I managed to drink one can of broth. It was just disgusting. I had much better luck just buying soup and straining out the clumpy stuff and drinking the broth.

Protein...I have recently tried Muscle Milk and like it okay. The New Whey vials give you a huge protein shot at once if you can handle them. (I mix orange vials with water and add orange crystal light.)

I lived on UNjury mixed into Sugar-free Instant Jell-O pudding my first weeks post-op... I can't stand the thought of them now, but they were heavenly at the time!

I also like the UNjury chicken broth... it's protein and NOT 'milky' (you will get sick of milky protein things)...

Now I'm NEW WHEY ALL THE WAY... the vials are fruit flavored - 42g protein, and mix into my water --- taste like Crystal Lite to me. No foam, froth, medicine flavor or odd smell to it...

Each one here has their favorite -- you'll have to find yours! Good luck and I'll be thinking of you on April 7th!

I am a pre-op as well and I was thinking about pretty much the same things.

I found protein shake in Trader's Joe that has 36 gram of protein and 2 gram of sugar. I drink it now in the morning for breakfast.

I always make my own broth. It tastes good and really is an easies thing to make. Just put chicken in the water along with salt, pepper, pilled carrot and one whole onion. Bring it up to boil, take of icky grey staff from the top of the pot, reduce hit to prevent broth from boiling and leave it for a couple of hours. I love to use kosher chicken; it tastes the best and has less icky staff. You can get Empire Kosher brand chicken in Trader’s Joe; I also got it frozen from COSTCO. You also can control how much fat is in you broth - when you put it in a fridge fat will "freeze" up on top of the pot. It will look like white battery mass; I just take it all off.

I make broth from beef and lamb as well. I add bay leave and whole black papers to it. Chicken broth is still my favorite, though.
