how long did they take to answer?
I´m fat and I´m so exited in getting my surgery, I just went to the seminar and I´m waiting for they to call and say "yes you are eligible" or "common! you are so not eligible"
I´m desperate I really really really super really want to know soon.
HOW LONG DID IT TOOK YOU TO GET "THE CALL"?

Insurance approval for me was literally overnight...office sent it late in afternoon on Thursday, and the "yes" was waiting on them when the office opened on Friday. BUT, I had done lots of little things along the way to ensure a quick yes response...6 month diet, 5 year log of weights proving long term obesity, and previous failed attempts at weight loss. My doctor makes sure that all the ducks are in a row before they fax to insurance company.

My "YES" took 5 days from the time the docs office sent it to Anthem. The best phone call I ever got. Good luck.

2 weeks and still waiting, but ...
Since the first seminar I been waiting for 2 weeks to know if am I eligible for a GB. Not from the insurance, but from the hospital.
Today I got a call from an area of the hospital that makes research, asking me if do I wanted to be part of an study... they said "you probably didn´t heard from the hospital yet, but I will let you know that you are eligible for a bypass gastric surgery, so we wanted to know if would you like to be part of a research"
At that moment, I didn´t even care of the person of the phone I just jumped and started dancing around the room.... I didn´t care anything else except I was eligible to star my process to a gastric bypass, to be thinner, healthier, and cuter... I started to think all the clothes I will buy after I will drop my first few pounds, and all the trekking I am going to be able to do with my skinny husband without saying lets rest after the first half mile.... I even though in the face of my ex boyfriends those who dumped me for being "too chubby" now that I´m married (I found someone that saw deeper than those extra pounds, and realized after my rolls and right behind my fat there was a heart, a sweet and sensitive person worth to marry with), married and skinny!.
Oh gosh! bring that scalpel here! because I´m so ready for that surgery that will for sure change my whole life
Thanks for your answers!!

I turned my paperwork in on Monday March 17th, and got a call on
March 18th from my PCP, I then called the clinic where surgery takes place, I was betting she didn't know of the approval yet and now I'm scheduled for all my pre-op appointments! I do believe I’ll have one more approval before the surgery happens, but that's after everything else is taken care of.
Cheers'
