Question Liquid Diet???

Hello Everyone,

I'm new to this forum, but I have been reading some of the post on this site and they have answered alot of my questions except one. I'm having a really hard time understanding what I'm going to be able to eat after surgery as far as the full liquid diet. And also what vitamins I should get and protein.

Honestly my appointment with my nutritionist was so overwhelming and quick that I was'nt able to remember alot of the info she gave me.

Can any of you tell me what you had while on the full liquid diet also include what vitamins and protein powders you had. This will help me alot so I can start buying all my food for my 2 recovering weeks. at this point I'm so clueless, that im thinking of just eating the exact same thing for two weeks. (The sample menu the nutritionist gave me). EVERYONE PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Okay your doctor may advise you differently - so LISTEN to him, but this is what I was told to take:

2 chewable multivitamins, 2 calcium supplements (can't be close to the time you take your multivitamins, 2500mcg of B-12 (sublingqual), 30mg Prevacid daily

I think that is all the supplements/vitamins.

It was pounded into my head to get in 64g of water and 64g of protein daily. I usually get the unflavored whey protein and mix it with sugar free pudding.

The liquid diet for me lasted about 3 weeks. It was soups, cottage cheese, pureed oatmeal, mashed potatoes (even though they tell you to avoid starches, for a while it was the only thing I could keep in), cream soups.

The liquid portion of the diet is VERY frustrating, but eventually you get to eat a little more and try new things, and it gets easier. The important thing is to listen to your pouch and the INSTANT you start to feel uncomfortable, push your plate away.
